Where Are Toast 8.0.5 Upgrades?

gee*virus

Question

The software download page redirects to the product page. I need Toast 8.0.5.

http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/toast/software_updates.html

I have problem where TivoToGo TivoTransfer window isn't showing my Tivo in the DVR list, even though I've confirmed my media access key is set.

Does anyone have the download of Roxio Toast 8.0.5? Roxio's site doesn't have it (since they released Toast 10?) and I haven't gotten any help from their support system. I have a Toast 8 license and am running 8.0.1 on a G5 Mac 10.4. I have started having the problem of not seeing my DVR show up in the Tivo Transfer window. Not sure if the problem is related to a Tivo 2008 Fall Season update or if it's related to the Tivo Desktop conflicting (it doesn't work either).

I'm getting that annoying redirect too. I tried versiontracker to no avail. :(

BTW -- do a search for TivoDecodeManager...I use that software, and I found it to be much more useful than TiVoToGo. Only thing is there's an additional step -- you have to plug in your TiVo's IP address.

****UPDATE****

gee*virus -- try again -- the link works now.

Add me to the list of people who want the 8.0.5 update.

The web site is all fouled up. First you get intercepted by a pop-up trying to sell you Toast 10 and when you click on "No Thanks" it takes you to a page where you click on an item and it takes you by the hand and drops you off where you started. Aside from being rather annoying and not providing the desired download, doesn't anyone test the page...ever?

I had the same problem until I tried to get the update using Safari. With Firefox3 it wou;d work exactly as you described but with Safari the download started right away.

I have 8.0.4 and kept getting prompts to update to 8.0.5...so I finally did. It downloaded just fine through Firefox. However, when I dragged the new files to my application file, it erased my version of Toast...I am now Toast-less. I don't recall if I purchased via download or hard disk and I can't find either. So I am essentially without. I tried online support, but because it is a legacy product, the just cut you off and tell you to upgrade. That's hogwash. I won't be using Roxio Toast anymore...sorry you guys lost a long time customer. I've been using Roxio products for 4 machines...but there won't be a fifth.

So if Roxio don't want to support their longstanding customers by providing a support link to the Toast 8.0.5 updates, then will they make them available via the online software sites that make available older software updates. After all, if you haven't got Toast 8 Titanium, then the updates aren't going to be of any use to you anyhow.

It just seems ridiculous that Roxio don't keep all their 'legacy' software updates available on their site. Is this likely to happen?

I am not holding my breath, but have Roxio turned from being a software house that supports its relatively older customers, or just abandons them once it becomes older software, that is once the money-cow has run dry?

It really is deplorable for such a large company to not show some support for the longterm customers, who have made this company so wealthy over the years - unless this situation were to change of course ? !
