Shagundala60
Dimension 5150/E510 OS: WIN XP Pro Svc. Pk.3 RE: Cineplayer/DELL Media Experience Dell Media Experience was OEM, however, no backup software disk was provided at time of purchase. The player does not work. I insert a DVD into the drive tray and the only thing that happens is a flash of the Cineplayer opening screen which disappears instantly. 1) Have tried to Repair through the add/remove programs with no results other than I am asked for a disk. 2) Have downloaded and installed the SONIC update(R142470.exe) and after doing so, receive an error message stating the Cineplayer 3.0 is not compatible with the update. I have contacted Sonic/Roxio, and have yet to receive a reply to my query. 3) After extracting the files from the above mentioned update, there is a new twist to the problem. After starting my machine, the desktop appears as usual, however 2 new windows are popping up in the upper left corner of the desktop. Both are written in DOS, appear to have something to do with the DVD player/ Sonic. Each one of the 2 screen has a square icon crossed diagonally with the top colored black, the bottom colored white, and a green cross in the center. One screen is titled: DrvmCDB, the other Diagnostic Traces. I have tried to locate these files, but am not successful; have tried a System Restore to a previous time, but that does not work either. Would like to know how to remove these 2 pop-ups; and how to un-install Cineplayer and all of it's files. I am beyond disappointed with this program. It does not work, files are corrupt, updates are not compatible, etc. Thanks for any help you can provide.
