Adding .avi File To Mydvd Express Problem...

Hey guys,

 

Sorry for the newbie question, but I have always used Nero up until I bought a new laptop with Roxio Creator Premier installed and am having some trouble right away...

 

I have a movie in the .avi format, .97GB which I want to burn to a DVD. I clicked on DVD Express and clicked "Add New Movie" and an error came up that said "the file you are trying to use cannot be edited, and has not been added."

 

Now, I was able to easily burn this same file to a DVD with Nero but I really want to learn how to use Roxio since it's already installed and my Nero is an older version without Hi-Def video capabilities. Does anyone know what I can do? Do I use Data and Backup or Copy functions?

The version that came preinstalled on your system is a 'cut down' version and divx/xvid files are not supported. You will have to upgrade to the full version in order to use those file types.

Even worse, DivX/XviD files and those with the AC3 audio codec are actively blocked.
