737flyer
This happened with Toast 8 and is happening again with toast 9. Here's the sequence: 1. Launch Toast and get the "Update Available" window. 2. Click on "More Info". 3. Opens browser to http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/toast/software_updates.html 4. Click on Toast 9 to version 9.0.4 "Download". 5. Get page http://www.roxio.com/Registration/(F(op7z4...download_id=123 6. Click on "Download" box. 7 Takes you to Roxio Customer Care page. http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/default.html 8. Click on "Download Software Updates. Starts the whole process over again. It's an endless loop with no download taking place. Tried in Firefox and Safari. Any ideas? Thanks
0 tsantee
I once saw that happen and the issue comes up here now and then. I just don't remember what causes it. You can't be using any third-party tools to speed download or block sites. Have you done any such customizing?

0 jlynn628
Works fine for me, try turning of your firewall. don't update. I just bought the program today. installed. burned a dvd into wrong format (not the point but happens to be in the sequence of events), got a message for that update was available clicked on more info downloaded update, draged into applications folder, asked if i wanted to overwrite, I said yes. said i did not have permission. I went to disk utilities to repair disk permissions (just learned that you should do this regularly on a mac (especially after installing new software) did disk repair dragged download into apps folder again. again asked if i wanted to over write, I said yes, again told me I did not have permission. Now the toast app is missing out of the folder (all the others- cd spin doctor, disk cover, disc cataloger, get backup, streamer and tivo transfer - are all there but toast is missing. so I put the original toast disk (which i bought today) back in and tried to drop it into my apps folder. Asked if I wanted to over write I said yes it again told me I do not have permission!!! getting very frustrated.

What I suggest is to rename the older copy of Toast or drag it to the trash before copying in the one from the download.
