Cannot Import Video

timj

Question

I have 2009. I cannot import video (not copy protected, homemade dvd) into Roxio using the 'capture media' application. I am capturing from the 'E' drive. It will show my vidio in the small window, list the 'chapters'. I can play the video in that screen. I can select from three options (DivX, MPEG, or WMV9), but when I select 'Import"....nothing happens. I have already (twice) done the 'clean uninstall" as per the posts here, and reinstalled (with all the normal 'startups' unchecked, no antivirus running (Norton). I have updated my video driver (Nvidia 9600 GT OC). In previous versions (I've had them all since 7), it seems I also had more options of how to save the imported files (mpeg 1, mpeg 2, etc.)

Also, my program seems to 'hang' alot now. When I double click the icon, it will 'load' then freeze most of the time. When I reinstalled the program, I immediately did the upgrade to SP3. What do I need to do?

  1. HP Media Center, dual core
  2. 3 GB Ram
  3. 1 T Hard Drive
  4. Nvidia 9600 GT OC
  5. Audigy FX Gamer
  6. Vista

What is the "E" drive? A burner, hard drive or what? If a DVD then there is no need to"import", just copy the Video_TS folder to your hard drive. What do you want to do with the video? There are dozens of options for outputting video.

Perhaps if you tell us exactly what you want to do and how you are doing it, we can show you what you are doing wrong. There are may applications in C2009 and you will have to exact in telling us which one you are using.
