C++ Runtime Error After Installing Roxio Capture Device

I have Creator 2009 with SP3 running on a Dell 8400 with Windows XP Pro. The device came with a disc. I connected the device and all the connections to my VCR, turned on my VCR, and connected the USB device to the computer. Went through the cancel window from Windows, inserted the disc, chose Driver and went through the installation. I then went into the device manager to see that they were installed and saw "USB capture devise" and "USB Audio Output". I restarted the computer and thought "good to go". I opened Roxio and clicked Video Capture, and then got a runtime C++ error, and the program wouldn't open. Figures.

I went into Add, Remove Programs and deleted the Roxio USB Capture. Restarted. Tried again and still Runtime error. Checked Device Manager and saw USB Audio still listed. I then did a system restore as I had put in a restore point before doing this mess. Now luckily the program opens, but of course can't capture as all is deleted!

Any ideas about what to do?

Thanks so much for any help in advance!!!
