Easy Vhs To Dvd Application Will Not Open

Question

ROXIO

I have ROXIO Easy VHS to DVD. I have tried fifteen ways from Sunday to get this thing to work to no avail. The installation DVD seems to work although it takes forever to install. The computer recognizes the Video Capture USB Device. When I click on the Easy VHS to DVD shortcut, the red “ROXIO” splash screen comes up for a few seconds, disappears, and … nothing. No program (application). I have uninstalled the DVD program and re-installed it. I have downloaded and installed the driver for the ROXIO Video Capture USB Device from http://www.roxio.com/go/videousb. Same result. I have installed the service pack. Nothing works. The program will not open except for the ROXIO logo splash screen.

I have a 3 ghz Gigabyte computer w/4gb memory and ~ 400gb of HDs. I have ROXIO Easy Media Creator 7 installed, along with about five other capture programs for transferring movies from various media to DVD.

I have been messing with this thing for almost three weeks with the same result. Is there a conflict of which I should be aware? Is there a simple fix for this problem? I have been to the Easy VHS to DVD forum and this seems to be a unique problem not covered in the discussion group. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest that you pick up your phone and call Roxio, one on one.

If you don’t want to do that then go with the clean install that is used for Creator 2009:

Vista

XP

That will eliminate your V7 but I don’t see how it will be missed… Once you get VHS to DVD installed and running, you could always try installing V7 if you really miss it.

Using that driver was only if you had C 2009 installed according to roxiodave and the instruction sheet that came with your EVHS2DVD software and device!

I just bought Roxio VHS to DVD. A card enclosed in the box advised me not to use the "Installation DVD Disc", if I have Creator 9. Rather, it said to d/l the driver from Roxio's website (www.roxio.com/go/videousb). I did that.

Below is the correct updated driver and service pack your supposed to be running.

Edit Update Information - Users need to apply Easy VHS to DVD Service Pack update in order to capture audio only. RoxioVHStoDVDSP.exe http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=48125

If you have "five other capture programs for transferring movies from various media to DVD" why would you need another or keep them all installed? Do you think they could be causing a conflict?

The phone call might be your best bet!
