What Is Easy Cd & Dvd Burning?

Easy CD & DVD Burning, version 9.0.554, has Disc Copier 9 included.

Disc Copier 9 is excellent for copying non-protected DVDs, which is one of the reasons why we questioned Sonic's policy of diminishing and disabling Disc Copier in EMC 10 and 11.

The copy tabs in Sonic Digital media Plus V7 invoke the Sonic Home Application, which is a pale shadow of the Roxio applications it replaces. :(

One more question (I purchased this software and I am cirrently deciding if I should keep it or return it):

A lot of customer reviews say it is incompatible with newer burners. Is this true?

That depends what you mean by "newer burners". If you are talking about BlueRay burners then yes, this software is incompatible. If you are talking about standard DVD burners then most of those "customers" don't know what they are talking about since I am certain it is compatible.

You realize that this package is a limited version of EMC 9, already 2 versions old. You would be better off getting Creator 2009 if you can afford it.

Yeah - I really just do simple burning - copy dvd's that I burned on my DVD player and archive files to DVD. I have been fine with the oem's that came with the pc's I have purchased. This is for a new computer build.

Is this software the same as OEM Easy Media Creator 9 just in a retail box ?

If not, what more or less does it have?

No, an OEM version is crippled/limited version of the full Easy Media Creator 9 suite and usually comes with a DVD burner or a computer system. Each OEM version is different from another depending on what the agreement the manufacturer has made with Roxio to include in the OEM. "The "Red box" version is also a "limited" version of the full EMC 9 but is sold by Roxio/Sonic.

The only "full version" is EMC 9 but that has been superceded by 2 versions alread. The current version is Roxio Creator 2009.

The full Retail would have had all of the boxes checked.

I just looked at that list again and I am confused - disc copier is NOT included but Roxio Copy is - I have Sonic Digital media Plus V7 which has an Audio a Data and a Copy tab. I am guessing this is the same thing? The Copy tab lets me copy entire dvd's and burn iso images.

It looks like you don't have the package that is referred to in the list which is the software mentioned in the Forum heading.

I do - I have Sonic Digital media Plus V7 which came installed on my pc. I PURCHASED Easy CD and DVD Burning (for a pc build) and I was questioning what it actually is before I open it. The reviews on Amazon are not stellar. Sonic has Data, Audio and Copy tabs. I am just asking is these are the same as Roxio Data, Audio and Copy since those features are all I require.

Jim Hardin posed a chart and "disc copier" is not checked off but Roxio Copy is and I just wanted to be sure you can easily copy a DVD (non-copyprotected of course).
