Import Acvhd Into Mtdvd By File Size Zero

Crapdecks

Question

I have recorded ACVHD files onto a hard disc camcorder, I capture them onto my PC with Creator 2009 but some of the files have a zero amount of data and of course will not play etc. When I capture the AVCHD files from camcorder to PC with the software which came with the camcorder I have M2TS files which play in CinePlayer but when I try to import into MyDVD it fails. Furthermore the M2TS files work fine in Ulead Video Studio and in Nero (although I do not like these softwares).

The camcorder is : Sony HDRSR12E and the message when trying to import a M2ts file is 'one or more of the files you are trying to add are unseekable and have not been added'.

Strange thing is that out of 233 video files only 6-7 have this issue despite the fact they play fine in CinePlayer !

Unseekable files usually indicates a file that has not finished writing to the media correctly. You will need an app that can fix the files. I have seen this happen when downloading WMV from the internet and the connect gets interrupted. The file will play but can't fast forward.

Thanks for your reply, when you say this usually means that a file has not finished writing to the media correctly. do you mean a) when the file was recorded by the camcorder or B) when the file was written to the PC from the camcorder ? Is this a flaw of the software or something else ?

Also what applications are available to 'fix' the files, can you please make any recommendations ?

Thanks

By the camcorder... Have you tried the software that came with the Camcorder? Perhaps Sony is doing something more proprietary that Creator 2009 does understand.

The software that came with the camcorder works fine with all files that I have recorded, Ulead Video Studio works fine with all files, Nero works fine with all files but Rixio will not function properly with a handfull of files ! I guess there is a glitch with Creator 2009 ! The question is how to get around this. I could use one of the other softwares but a) I much prefer Roxio software (when it works) and B) I'll be damed if I give up trying to make this work.
