Issues Writing Dvd Rw Or Cd Rw

x2larry

Question

I had easy media creator which worked fine, i used it to backup to DVD-RW. I decided to update to Roxio 2009.

Now i can't backup at all using DVD-RW. I have tried different RW media SOny, Memorex, Staples, RiData, Verbatim.

No matter what either backup or just trying to create a regular data DVD same issue. I get illegal command code.

I even replaced my NEC DVD burner with an LG dvd burner still same issue.

I have disabled just about everything i could think of that may be causing an issue. I installed the Roxio 2009 service pack same issue.

I have windows XP Pro with service pack 3. I even uninstalled sp3 and reinstalled roxio 2009 just in case it was an os update issue. I have removed any other burning software that may conflict.

I am at odds end and will return software if i cannot remedy issue by Friday.

Any insight would be appreciated.

thx.

What are you talking about???

The type of media is completely irrelevant to burning.

The only thing that matters is how you authored the media…

So, how did you do it?

I'm not sure how you derived "irrevelant" but RW media is not as universal as they claim to be - known issue. This is not a multimedia DVD we're talking plain data to RW media. I appreciate the feedback but please don't waste my time by making these general statements.

If you knew what you were talking about you would have understood the importance of the question I asked

But you are just trying to bluff with your lack of knowledge ;)

I'll be glad to help but stop trying to pull my leg and start supplying information and details.
