Disk Spanning Error Message

I just started using Toast 9.0.4 with Tiger 10.4 (was previously using Toast 6). When I try to burn a Toast 9 data session to a multisession CD (containing previous Toast 6 sessions) I sometimes get the error message:

 

"Disk Spanning is disabled because the media is not blank. Please insert a blank CD."

 

Everything is fine when I use a blank CD, but do you know if I will be able to burn other sessions to this CD later? Write Session is enabled in the Recorder settings.

 

I'm also puzzled as to why I do not always get this message.

If you want to use the disc spanning feature you cannot use Write Session. If you want to use Write Session you need to burn the discs the same as you did with Toast 6 and only add content that fits the disc rather than content that needs to be spanned to other discs.
