Capture Problem With Creator 2009

srsaint

Question

I installed software and drivers yesterday (Sat 2/14/09). I then tried to take an old vcr video using media import using roxio capture device. I am able to see video on capture screen and hear video sound but am unable to capture now. What am I doing wrong or didn't do that I was supposed to.

What "Drivers"? How?

Why can't you capture? What happens?

Also look through the Tips & Tricks article about using the device – Here

Don't know what drivers. I loaded fom video capture usb cd that came with software.

I don't know why I can't capture. Thats my ? Why can't I. import screen displays my video from vcr as well as sound. When I try to click on enable capture I get no response

I went to your tips screen and I have exactly same thing and options. Capture now does not let me click on it.

Compare the drivers with what I have shown in Tips & Tricks – What'cha got???

Also try capturing with Windows Movie Maker. If the drivers are correctly installed the Device can be utilized by any capture program.

Jim. I did this earlier today and I match up exactly with what you sent me shown in tips & tricks. I also tried your suggestion using Windows movie maker. Couldn't find option to use vcr to movie maker. Whats next? Thanks for your help.

XP or Vista?

Vista can't capture from USB in Movie Maker ~ thank you MS… :angry2:

XP can and the device will be listed as, surprise, USB 2861 Device. But there will never be an option for VCR. VCR is not a capture device.

Ok. I'm running vista 64 bit. Video card is NVIDIA GE FORCE GTX 260. 6 gig of mem and tara bit storage. I just checked usb capture driver, audio and 260. All are latest versions with no updates. I noticed that Roxio calls for a 1024x768 directx compatable graphics card. Could this be my problem?

Is your DirectX 10 up to date?

Did you check to see if the drivers are Vista 64 compatible?

Don't click on the Add Reply button, more than once. Sometimes it takes awhile for the message to go through.

Yes direct 10 is up to date

Drivers are vista 64 compatable.

As said originally. on import screen I can access all options except capture now. Movie plays from vcr and I have vcr sound. It's in ready capture mode. TV standard is NTSC-M.

I'm in the process now of uninstalling and then reinstalling. See where I go from here unless you have some other ideas. Tech support hasn't resolved this either
