Problem Writing To Disk

When I try to burn a data disk, Creator 2009 beginns successfully and then quits before completion. I get the message: "There was a problem writing to the disk" and the following information:

 

Sense: 02 ASC: 04 ASCQ: 04 (Command 00)

Px.dll: 4.8.39.500

 

Any suggestions how to remedy this?

This post has a similar (though not identical) error code, and suggests a couple of things. What brand of disc did you use? Have you tried burning to Verbatim?

In what program of C2009 current version are you using? Where did your copy of C2009 come from, is it a Special Edition or Ultimate version? What Operating System are you running? Is the disc a new unused disc? What type CD, DVD, R, or RW?

I was in the data disk module; version of Creator 2009 is 1.1.110; 4.12.0a, build 111B10E,R03; 411B33A,C11; running Windows XP; new unused Maxell DVD-RW.

 

Disk drive itself seems to be the problem, since I was having difficulty buring via Windows and Photoshop Lightroom.

My table of ATAPI error codes suggests alongside the "Sense: 02" group of error codes that "The drive may not be operating properly" and that you should check your PC and all your device connections.
