Finalize Problem

I have Esay Media Creator 9 running on Vista Ultimate on quad processor. I regularly have a problem finalizing disks that I create. It does occaisionally work though.

 

The Task: Copying files or folders to a CD or DVD so that they can be access on a computer that does not have EMC. I usually use Data Disk and move the files to the box or drag to disk. When I use drag to disk it tells me thaT it cannot finalize. When I use creator classic without drag to disk I cannot find out how to finalize. There are some help screens telling me what to do but that does not work either.

 

Once I close a session on the CD, how do I finalize it?

If you are using drag to disk, then when you eject the disk you should be able to tell the software to make this disk usable on all computers. I no longer have D2D on my system as compatibility issues with other computers will occur if you do not finalize the media. R/W media is good for testing but if you want a permanent recording use write once read many media.

It didn't work in V9 D2D Dave…

 

I guess it did for some, mine like most, just threw an error and some were treated to the BSOD screen saver

Creator Classic will finalize write once media such as CD-R, DVD-R or DVD+R.

Use Creator Classic, and you will not see that problem again. No formatting of the disc required.

In Creator Classic you either close the disc or leave it open to have another session written to it.

 

When you're on the burn screen there is a box that says Read Only Disc.

Check it to close and finalize the disc.Uncheck it to leave the disc open so another session can be written.

If you choose to leave it open then the next time you go to write data you need to import the previous session(s).

You then again have the choice to close the disc or leave it open.
