Video Compression

sznomn

Question

I am trying to burn onto dvd some long video tapes. I have purchased a Pinnacle Dazzle direct to dvd but it won't let me go over 103 minutes in length. Some of my tapes are 120 minutes or longer. I am trying to burn them to single sided dvd's. Does the roxio Easy vhs to dvd offer some kind of video compression that will allow me to do this? I also have tried the AVS video converted to try a different format for the dvd but when I do this the audio seems to be about 20 - 30 seconds behind the video.

The longest is about 3 hours, but I can also guarantee you that the quality won't be as good as the tape. When you start compressing the video, the quality suffers. For best quality, only one hour of video on a single layer, 4.7GB DVD.

Thanks for the quick answer. I guess that is what I was afraid of. Oh well i guess I will have to try and split some of the tapes into two dvd's.
