Can't Get Started

wmbee

Question

I have loaded Easy(???) VHS to DVD. First time I tried to run it, I didn't have an internet connection. I was able to see see in the preview window what was on the TV screen, but when I tried to burn it or download it, the program froze and had to be killed from the task manager. Ran it again with internet and got a download of a software update. Now I can't even get the preview. When I try to go to burn or download, it strains for a while and then tells me I have an unspecified video download error. At one point, it told me that it had insufficient USB bandwidth. It needed 3%. I have no other external USB devices running, and it looks like internally the computer is using about 50% of the bandwidth.

I have an Acer laptop that's less than three years old, running XP Home, which was recently reloaded on the machine.

I am ready to try to get my money back.

Hi Wmbee -

This is a new scenario.

What are your computers specifications? RAM? Processor speed? Etc? All Windows Updates applied?

Did the download complete and install successfully? There should have been a dialog that you had to click through to install it.

What is your video source? VHS? DVD? Hi-8?

How are you connecting the device to your computer? Extension cable? Directly in?

Thanks,

Jon
