Hello Roysie,

Did you install Easy VHS to DVD the recommended way?

-insert USB device

-cancel the Windows 'Found new hardware' wizard

-install program suite and USB device drivers from the Roxio disc

-restart and run the program

-download and apply the Easy VHS to DVD Service Pack 1

Having connected your tape deck to the red and white connectors on the USB device, run "Capture Audio from sound card" [Easy Audio Capture] and set it to capture from the USB 2861 device. You should have a screen like this . . .

Please note that you won't get an audio preview, but you should see the blue bars on the L and R recording level indicators flicking up and down. [You can preview the audio if you open the "Capture Video" application, and leave it open but minimize it.]

Do you see that screen with the blue bars moving when you are inputting sound from your tape deck?

Regards,

Brendon

Thanx Brendon, Yes I have installed it and uninstalled it and tried always I can think of but just can't get the side bars to show (they must be shy) so I am now thinking it may be somthing to do with Vista.

I have just about gone crazzy trying to work out what may be the problem.

Again I thank you for you help it's very kind of you Cheers Roy.

What "side bars" are you talking about, Roy? Vista has a sidebar, but nothing to do with this program suite.

You need to have Vista SP1 installed for the suite, but if you've managed to install it you must have Vista SP1 applied.

If you're talking about the audio recording level bars not moving, make sure you've updated to Easy VHS to DVD SP2 and try again.
