Drives not detected by Roxio program

davey-w

Question

I`ve got the same problem. After installing another appliction Vista would not diplay drives G or F The problem went away when i deleted upper and lower filters using the registey editor, but when I wanted to use Roxio to copy a disc no drives are detected. I`ve done the clean install, installed the PX Engine and uninstalled the drvers, all followed by reboots. Windows shows the drives ok and they are usable in other applcations. They always used to be ok in Roxio. Something has changed. Can you help me please?

Hello,

There are a couple of filter sub-keys in a Windows registry key which are called 'upperfilters' and 'lowerfilters'.

Windows puts some stuff in these filters and Windows can then see your drives.

Roxio puts some stuff in as well, and Roxio can then see your drives.

If these entries get broken, deleting the filter entries makes Windows rebuild them. However Windows will only renew its own filter entries. After you've done a filter deletion you must reinstall your Roxio program to rebuild the Roxio filters, else the Roxio program will not see your drives.
