Audio With .cda File Extension

DebW

Question

I urgently need some assistance converting a .cda music file to be able to use it with a dvd I have just created. My son compiled the music and copied it to a cd for me which plays in windows media but I can't get it across to my dvd.

In simple layman terms can someone please help. It is for my son's 21st birthday party tomorrow.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A disc that shows .cda files on it means it was burned as an audio disc (like any music CD you buy). You can't just copy the .cda files to use them, as they are not technically audio files. That's just how the computer displays the audio tracks.

To use the music from the disc, you need to first "rip" them to your hard drive and then use the .mp3 or .wav files that you create as part of that process in your dvd production.

To 'rip' the music to files on your hard drive, open the Creator 2009 main home app. Go to the section labeled Music - Audio. You should then see an Import area with 4 or 5 choices. Choose either the Rip or Rip - Advanced one to rip the CD music to files on your hard drive.
