How Do I

JackB

Question

Just bought RC 2009. My old version was RC 2006 and it was very easy to add my personal pics to lable maker by going clicking on format, then change background and select picture. I have read all I can find in help but can't find how to do it with the 2009 version. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,

Jack

You should see Label Creator in the list of applications then start Label Creator. We are taking about CD labels right?

1. Select your desired style

2. Cick on add image (should be a doted box on the then selected label style) - browse to the selected image and select it

or

1. Select your desired style

2. Click on add image from the left side menu and then browse to your desired image and selected it

3. Now you can drag the image to the desired location on the CD label

You can now resize the image by selecting the image when it's on the label and then grab the corner to resize. You can also drag the image around the lable to reposition it.

Thanks for the come back Big_Dave. I am really feeling stupid but I do fine with your instructions until I click on the desired style, but then I don't see a menu on the left side that says add image. I can go to the edit menu and then background and image but thats all I get of the image on the disk is a background faded out picture.

Click on the little white triangle on the black ADD OBJECT BAR on the left to expand the menu. Does that help?

Obviously I am doing something wrong because I am not seeing an add image box. These are the steps I am doing. Maybe you will see where i'm going wrong.

1. Open the Creator main menu

2. Open the "Create Labels"

3. On the left side of the next screen is a list of different types of jobs to do, I check the Disk box and click on next.

4. I then click on style and pick a style. The style I have picked shows on the right side in the shape of the disk and at the bottom a little square that shows a minature of the disk and style. I then click next.

5. then I have a window that gives me 3 choices. Print, save or edit in lable creator. There it gives me a list of options to add, one of which is image but nothing is highlighted and will let me do anything with except the scan image and prompts me to chose a portable device such as a digital camera. The images I want to use or on my hard drive. If I hit the tools button, then options it shows my hard drive but won't let me open anything from there.

I am really lost with this and sure hope I am explaining it enough for you to help me out.

Thanks again

Jack

Jack,

Now I see what you are doing. You are using the Express Label program and not the Label Creator. Go to your start button and navigate to programs and then to Creator 2009 and then applications. You should be able to then see Label Creator. If you can get that far then try my previous instructions.

In addition to what Dave said, there is no shortcut to the real Label Creator, from the Home Page. Roxio forgot to put one there, so as Dave said, the only way to get to it, is through the Start/All Programs route.

Hey, thanks to all. That was the answer. I guess I just couldn't believe they would make it harder to do anything in the later versions than in the earlier. Anyway you guys were great. I really appriciate your help and patience/\

You're welcome. The newer versions of the software, have more of the stripped down Sonic programs in them, and some of the old Roxio programs have been stripped of what the could do, when Roxio and Sonic, were separate companies.
