im trying to mix audio /photo together to make a slide show.but when i go to transfer the audio flie it says it protected ,how do i get around this

You don't if the audio files are protected such as those you rent from ITunes. However, you can use any music you have on a non-protected CD - or you can use some of the elevator music from Smart Sounds.

Well if you did get these from itunes, maybe you can burn a cd and then extract the audio off that?

Also, itunes now has a new process where you can buy, for some of its songs, DRM free songs, or "upgrade" previously purchased songs so that they are drm free.

Just my two cents.

Yes, you can rip any music off a CD and use it in a slide show use Video Wave to do your slide sho.

Just in case you posted in the wrong area, you cannot do this with Roxio Photoshow (Roxio on-line).

Now that that is out of the way, please tell us wich Roxio product/version you have or are plannig to get.

Roxio allows you to rip the audio off one or more CD discs at the same time. You would add the images to Video Wave, set timineg, add transitions and other effects and then the music. You would then save the project, open MyDVD, add the project(s) and then burn to a DVD. Read this and this.
