Life Is Good

That is just soooo sick and deluded. (And destined to repeat itself ad infinitum - not a shred of wisdom there.)

What can possibly be sick about chocolate? It's a little piece of heaven on earth.

Man, I've become a more negative person but it's good to know there's someone much more negative than me! Half full or half empty is the question and I still prefer half full. As bad as things are for most, it could (and might) just get worse. Be thankful for what you have and not for what you don't.

What's chocolate? Haven't had any in many years.

Not negative just a realist - observations are neutral. I live in abundance and contentment BTW. ;)

A life without chocolate or wine would not be what I would consider abundance! Nor would I necessarily be content. <_<

But, be that as it may, the "wisdom" is to live life to its fullest, and that definition varies for all.

Life is NOT good. Life is hard and depressing as hell most of the time. If you don't think this way, you are a lucky person because you obviously have not seen the dark side of life nor have you experienced any real pain or suffering. You're lucky to have a good outlook on life...I try my best to do the same, but if you were me, you'd understand how hard that is.

Let's consider the alternative to life... :(

I'll still go with, "Life is good."

Metalbrother,

I've been there, done that. In my job I've seen unspeakable things done or happened to people, and I've been to the bottom of the pit myself. I only just managed to scramble out over a period of some years, and with lots of help from others.

I just want to say you have to keep looking ahead, and that any day above ground is a good day. If you keep deliberately reliving the bad things that have happened, you'll doom yourself to groundhog day. Life is pretty good for me now, and I'd hate to miss it.

Metalbrother actually has it kinda right - samasara sux! Even in the moments of pleasure and satisfaction there is 'suffering' (if for no other reason that it won't stay around for long). But this is not a reason to be depressed or feel sorry for yourself. It is an opportunity for wisdom - to understand how unsatisfactory existence is at it very root and to let go of clinging to shifting sands and illusions. That brings great contentment, equanimity and liberates the mind from the prison of delusion.

(Wow, didn't think there'd be an opportunity to philosophize this morning.)
