Jim_Hardin
Doesn't that indicate your Burner has trouble with that media??? While those brands are not the best, it seems that after 4 years the light is going out in your drive. Shopping around you should be able to replace it for $25 or so. That sense code means it cannot write to the media, because it is an incompatible format.
gameman
Open the Suite to the Home Page, up top click Tools, Get Disc Information. I am confused obviously......I can burn to a DVD-R that is TDK BRAND and states a speed of up to 2X....Have done a handfull of those. Doesn't that indicate your Burner has trouble with that media??? The system is at 4 years old but only tried to burn just this year, unless it just needs cleaning from dust collection? That sense code is saying that it doesn't recognize the media that you are using. Have you checked to see if there is a firmware update for your DVD burner? Way back when, as new speed media was being manufactured, DVD burner manufacturers would put out a new firmware update, so the burners could read the newer media. Maybe the latest firmware update, for your burner, will solve the problem.

cdanteek
Read 'Response Number 3'... http://www.computing.net/answers/mac/sony-...d22a/11302.html http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/ I'm not encouraging you in any way to do this to your drive, it might not burn anything then... gameman
Thanks, Will search for the firmware update. The Sony Support site will not recognize my Sony DVD RW DW-D22A when searched under my Vaio model VGC-RA825G. My system information sheet shows the manufacture (Standard CD-ROM drives), and cdrom.sys for Driver, will try that route.
