Unable To Load - Corrupted File? Emc 10

MartyK

Question

I have Creator 10 and spent well over 40 hours creating a VideoWave production. I was nearing completion and then received an error message reading :

" VideoWave was unable to load the specified production. The file may be corrupted or of an incompatable version.

I rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled the program. No success.

Is there any way to recover my file?

Other saved productions load properly.

No – if your Production file is corrupted, it is gone…

I have been doing this for 6 years and never had this happen, but there have been a few posts about it.

It isn't really a Roxio thing, but just a plain old computer thing.

Having been burned, you could add this to your work culture – before starting always copy your dmsm (VW) or dmsd (MyDVD) project files to a safe location. I recommend 2 folders – Even days & Odd days.

This way the worst thing that can happen is that you lose 1 day of work!

Jim ... thanks, thats good advice for the next time, BUT

There appears to be a notepad file that scripts/records the entire production ... I'm not a techie, but is it possible that the corrupted piece could be located in this file and removed?

And if yes, could I cut and paste that file on this message board for a techie eye to scan and advise?

Good Luck with that

Yes it is possible and it is also possible to write your own Burning Suite.
