Roxio Video Copy & Convert Stop Working

mfong288

Question

In Roxio 2009 Ultimate, I used the Video Copy and Convert - video compilation tap, I added 11 short clips, totaling 45 mins 29 sec all at once. The green status bar stated Content Quality: Excellent, but the bar already reached to the end (4482MB). When I deleted one of the clip and add it again, the program froze, "Roxio Vido Convert has stop working". I tried it again with 11 short clips, totaling 45 mins 29 sec all added at the same time. Then I tried to add another clip, 1 min, it froze and gave me the same error message. Next, I tried to just add one file at the time. I added the 9 mins 44 secs, then tried to add the 5 min 43 clip and the progam crashed. Please advise.

I am using a Dell XPS SPS720 Intell Core 2 quad CPU Q9450 @ 2066 GHZ, 4.0 GB RAM, Vista Ulimate, SP1 32 bit operating System

I used VideoWave and added the 43 mins clip and push the burn button, MyDVD Express automatically opened and I sucessfully burned the clip onto a DVD (I did not a DVD-RW). I reopen the production and added more clips to make it 7hrs and 45 mins. The bar on the bottom changed to red to indicate that it would fit the disc. I push the burn button anyway and MyDVD Express opened again. It stated that the disc did not have enough room, so the burn button was not even highlighted. Nothing froze. I went back and deleted enought clips to make it 60 mins and it sucessfully burned. It seem like MyDVD Express can not do any compression. However, nothing crashed.

I think about the best any of us have done is 4 hour. I know a 6 hour test failed and 7:45 is out of the question.

I can't be of anymore help to you, sorry.

You also can't get it to write a 2:45 project to a DL disc from your other posts – Here

If the program chokes, it because it is corrupt or the file you are feeding it is corrupt.

Easy test, open VideoWave and add the files to it…

If it breaks it is your files!

If it doesn't, Clean Install - Vista

The file is not corrupt. I can play it on the preview window. No problem playing with VideoWave. Also have no problem burning to DVD using Roxio Creator 8. Updated my graphic card driver, changed from hardward to software rendering and disabled all startup programs as suggested by Roxio support, but nothing resolved the problem. I guess I will try the clean install as you suggested.

Playing a file is a test of nothing!

Players are designed to tolerate a mass of errors…

An Editor cannot!

Before I would go through the Clean Install, I would carry this through… VideoWave is your editor. Save a Project there.

Then go to MyDVD and Add the VW Project. Try burning to an RW while you are set to Fit to Disc.

The idea is to see if it will run through the whole process without error???

If it does and VCC still balks, then do the Clean Install.
