Trouble Capturing 16:9

angler180

Question

I'm having the same issues with capturing using Creator 2009 Ultimate on Vista Ultimate 64. I have a Sony Handycam DVD403.

No matter which Roxio tool I use for capturing, it will not capture 16:9 to MPEG. The capture application has an edit settings button but it is greyed out. When I switch it to DIVX it lights up and I can go in and change settings. But I want to capture in its original format.

The text details next to the video image says it is 16:9. But when it is captured it is squished.

When I watch the dvd using Cineplayer it plays as widescreen 16:9 just fine.

I've spent hours trying to figure this out.

Thanks for any insights...

Clear something things up for us – keep in mind we are users and don't work for Roxio but are willing to try to help.

You posted into one thread that was about not being able to capture from a camcorder and claimed you "have the same issue" then go on to talk about something else..

But you post here (again from someone else's thread) and claim you can capture but have a problem with ratios…

Please confirm what the problem or problems is/are

Also please detail what steps you use to capture from your camcorder discs?

And have you tried to use the included software that came from Sony to capture with?

Since you have a DVD camcorder there is no "capturing" required. Just copy the Video_TS folder from the DVD to your hard drive and use the VOB files to do what you want.
