Problem Burning Photos With Toast

schwine2

Question

I am having trouble burning photographs onto a dvd-r disk with Toast Titanium software.

Specifically, I would like to know how many photographs Toast can burn onto one dvd-r disk with a 4.7 gb capacity?

I am attempting to burn 1,485 photographs onto this disk.

They are categorized into 15 slide shows with 99 photos in each slideshow, with a total size of 1.78 gb.

The problem is that the encoding process always crashes before burning can begin.

I have tried using a number of different recordable dvd disks but the same problem continues.

Thanks for any tips on how to solve this problem.

There is no problem fitting your photos to the DVD. The problem is that one or more of your photos has a defect in its file that is precipitating the crash. The trick is finding which one has the problem. Here's what I do:

Go to the Roxio Converted Items folder (by default it is your Documents folder. Open it an see which is the last image Toast encoded before the crash. The photo that is next after that has the problem.

Select the problem photo in iPhoto or whatever application you use for photo editing and convert it to a TIFF file. When that is done you can either use the TIFF or convert it back to JPEG. Replace the one in the slide show with your converted one.

Now proceed with making your slide show. If Toast crashes at another point repeat the above steps for the new problem image.
