Successful Install, But It Won't Open

Amateur

Question

I did a clean install of Roxio. The setup message window said I had successfully installed Roxio. I restarted the computer. When I clicked on the Roxio Icon on the desk top I got the following message:

"Roxio has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The error signature follows:

Event type: CLR20R3 P1: roxiocentral.exe P2: 4.12.0.0 P3 48a05348 P4: roxiocentralfx

P5: 0.0.0.0 P6: 48a05348 P7: 17e P8:12 P9: system.dll not found exception

What do I need to do to run Creator 2009 if I had a successful installation?

Help, please. I will copy this to Roxio. Many thanks, Gary

Should be easy

Download and run Creator 2009 SP3 update. Should work then.

Many thanks Jim. BTW, I had two posts since I encountered an interrupted install first and then a successful install second.

Following is an email to my inquiry to Roxio Support. I post my results after attempting a repair. I still do have the question of where to find Roxio Error Codes and their meanings. Jim, Do you know?

Cheers, Gary

I don't see how that shines any light on anything???

Did you or did you not apply Roxio 2009 SP3?

And just to clarify, you have the Suite installed but the Home app isn't running???

Hi Jim. Thank you very much. I first tried what Tech Support suggested and that did not work. For clarification, when I clicked on the Roxio Icon on the desk top I received the error. I then downloaded SP3 per your suggestion and that worked. I am up and running. I have registered the product and I am able to see the full Suite. Obviously, I would not be up and running based on the Tech Support recommendation.

Jim, I am most grateful to you for sharing your expertise and helping others. Now I can start capturing a heap of miniDVs and produce some movies, one of which is the Winter Special Olympics.

Thank you and cheers, Gary
