First Time Toast User Help! Asap Dvd Wont Play In Player!

I just finished using Toast 10 Titanium for the first time. It seemed like everything was going fine as i tried to burn a .avi movie. But after the burn process was completed, i tried it in two DVD players, and it did not work. It does, however, play in my computer (iMac OS X 10.5.6).

I selected to burn a "DVD-Video" set the encoding to automatic, auto play disc on insert, play all items continuously, and video quality set to "better" .

I really hope someone can help clear this up. I need to get this burnt ASAP.

Did you use a good brand of discs? Insert one of the discs and choose Disc Info from the Recorder Settings menu. In the window that appears there is a link to a Web site with user reports about your specific discs. If those reports aren't great then try a different brand such as Verbatim.

 

The fact it plays on the Mac pretty much indicates that Toast did its part. Everything else you state sounds right to me.

. . . . and of course, there's the format . . . are you trying to use -DVD R in a machine which only plays +DVD R (or vice versa).

 

Yup, these players are still around, . . . I got one at home - -DVD R only (that's minus or plus at the front)!
