Increasing Volume Of Mp4 Files

RustyNail

Question

I am assembling a video and some of the .mp4 files have low volume. I tried lowering the volume of the music track and increasing the gain, in Videowave but it appears that it applies this to the entire production, not just that segment. Is there a way in Creator to increase the volume of an individual .mp4 file or does that have to be done in another app? If another app, what do you recommend? I can get Goldwave to edit the audio and guess I could remux it - is there an easier way to do that with Creator (ie create a track and drop it on the timeline)?

Thx

Just load a single mp4 file into Videowave, adjust it and Output As to a DVD mpg, best quality file. Do this for all problem files. You can then add the modified video in Videowave or myDVD.

If you have multiple files in VW and edit audio, the changes only apply to the one selected!!! But you would have to set a split at the beginning and end of the area you want to change.

If you already had a MyDVD Project open, no edits you do in VW will be applied to the MyDVD Project! It is a flaw in Roxio not found in other video software…

But you can pick the Title in MyDVD and select Edit Movie and do the edits there. They will only apply to that MyDVD Project and will not be carried along with the file.

Or you can do the Export As that Walt suggested and another way of getting it done.

It is a little complex, but that it the nature of Video Editing and Authoring.
