First, I want to be perfectly clear that I have not and will not purchase Photoshow through Roxio.
I have Simplestar Photoshow version 5 with all the service packs and have had no problems running it, burning a DVD or CD. Today when I tried to open my photoshow I got a message saying a required download to version 5.0.4 Build 3034 was needed. I had the option to apply now or apply later. Naturally I picked Apply Later. I would like to know what this is..why I need it, and is this a Roxio thing to try and mess up my old version to force me to buy, for another 40.00, their product? I have bought all the Photoshow versions since Simplestar started putting out their software, I have also bought the discs. I don't feel I need nor deserve to have to fork out again for a product I have that's good for a sub standard version from Roxio. IF I don't apply this will my old photoshow still run and burn as normal. IF I apply..will Roxio mess me up royally?
I have been reading alot of the problems old and new users have posted and I am not impressed..especially the seemingly disreguard the Roxio customer service has for it's users. Doesn't generate alot of faith for anyone interested in their product.
