To fix the initial problem, I tried uninstalling/reinstalling. I was able to open EMC10 and burn a couple discs. Exited, tried to open it the next day, same problem, the program simply won't open from the EMC10 Suite icon or the Creator10.exe file.
Here's some info Tech Suport requested, they did not have any initially useful information.
I've run a ton of different programs on different computers over the last 20 years. The only ones i have perpetual problems with out of the box are your Roxio products (including past versions) and Dragon Naturally Speaking. Even this amount of time to troubleshoot a program that is marketed as miraculously easy righto ut of the box and should simply work is unacceptable. If there are known compatibility issues, you should be issuing information along with the fix or, better yet, an automatic update that fixes the problem, or advice on NOT BUYING your product if you run other programs with known compatibility issues. Security threats and protection software are facts of modern computing life. conflict with security programs is ridiculous software design. Please provide a quick and easy solution. Thank you in advance for your attention to this issue.
1. Security/Reg Cleaning. Yes, Norton Internet Security 2009 and an old version of Norton Systemworks Premier 2006.
2. I purchased your update Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 from your on-line store. I've had Roxio Easy Media Creator 9, and a couple earlier versions. I've never run into this problem before.
3. Start Up folder: the only program in the start up folder is NCProTray. I don't know what this is.
4. OS=Windows XP-Pro, SP3
5. Roxio Prog Suite is Easty Media Creator 10.
6. There is NO error messages, the program simply does not boot from the icon or the EXE file (Creator10.exe)
7. System Info:
a. AMD Chip, X86 family, 2399Mhz (socket is AMD 939); AMD Athlon 64 4000 SanDiego Core Socket 939 CPU.
b. Raw Ram: 4 GB
c. Sound Device: Realtek Ac'97 Audio for VIA ® Audio Controller, mic is logitech (Communicate STX)
