Typically Windows will re-install the drivers if you have deleted the drives via system manager (XP). The first thing to do is to go to system manager and delete the drives. Reboot and typically Windows will re-install them with the appropriate drivers. A re-installation of Windows might be in order if that doesn't work and if no one else has a better idea. You may have to do a clean install of the Roxio program (scroll down for Vista instructions) since there are pieces of it all over your system. I am running windows xp - I have uninstalled the two drivers and when I restart the computer the only new hardware found is Multimedia Audio Controller - try to install this hardware and it can't be installed by the wizard because it can't find the files needed to install due to the fact that my cd drives aren't up and running - please advise with some help before I pull what hair I left at the end of the day from kids out

Did you uninstall the drives or did you uninstall the drivers? Does Windows see the drives? If you open my computer, properties, and go to hardware and then device manager. Look under DVD>CD-Drives, what do you see? Right click on each and select uninstall. Reboot. Check to make sure Windows sees them. They should reinstall with the drivers. Why did you feel that you had to uninstall the drivers? Read this thread (link) to see if there is anything applicable.
