gi7omy
First one E_FLOPPY_ID_MARK_NOT_FOUND 0x80070462 Disk error. Second one Open an elevated command prompt (find Command Prompt in the start menu, right-click it and choose "Run as administrator") and type "net start slsvc" (and hit enter). If you get the following message: "The Software Licensing service is starting. The Software Licensing service was started successfully." try validating again. You can do that by clicking "Validate Windows" here: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ If you get a different message please run a disk check and then run (no quotes) "sfc /scannow" in an elevated Command Prompt. And then try validating again.

Ijar
Try this. It suggests that it has 24 hour chat, so maybe they can help. Thanks for the link, Syrallas and I eventually got to this page with phone numbers on the next page: http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.a...mp;gprid=436922 And I phoned them and guess what: After a good while they authenticated the Product Key and did a return call from one of the Microsoft call centres and the issue was resolved, installed the software. They were some corrupt files which were re-registered and successfully activated over the internet. Everything is in order now... Something is messed up in your OS Thanks to you too Daithi and all involved...what a relief
