Question

 I have used Roxio 7, 8 and 10. I did my first slideshows using VideoWave; 'spent long hours of frustration to the completed projects. I thought the problems I had were because I was learning the program. But I am back to that same old hair-pulling with my latest project....which should have been quick work.

The slideshow consists of more than 100 slides to which I am trying to add background audio consisting of 3 songs. My latest roadblock is that the last song is less than half it's length. I don't know why and don't see any way to fix it.

The music, even with 3 songs, runs out before the slides. My method was to add all of my background audio and apply the "fit to audio" option. But I want the entire song. From my description, can anyone get a picture of what I am doing wrong?

I have opened the project after a rest. And now when I try to add the 3rd song - no matter where I place the player indicator, I'm getting "audio cannot be added at this position" error...........!!!

I would be grateful for any insight.

Try to increase the length of each picture from the current of say 5.67 to 7.0 seconds . The audio will cut off based on the picture viewing time. i.e. if the total number of pictures in overall length is 6:30 and the audio is 8:00 it will cut the audio down to 6:30 leaving you with 1:30 of unplayable audio I extended the last picture to well over the 1:30 left in audio so that the audio is complete, then I adjusted the FIT option. Try that and see if it works for you. Also add some transisions to your project, this too will add time to your project for audio fit and maybe some pan and zoom features.

When you add a transition between two video clips or photos, the overall length of your project is shortened not extended.

For example, suppose you have two adjacent photos each with a duration of 5 seconds (for a total of 10 secs). If you then add a 2 second dissolve transition between them, the final length will not be 12 seconds but only 9 seconds. The two photos are overlaid to achieve the dissolve. The effect is similar for other transions. Pan & Zoom also does not affect the timelength.
