Render Options

Question

Through consulting you experts I have learned that to prevent 'juddering' I should set the TOOLS/OPTIONS/RENDER USING to 'Software' when Burning. Excellent advice works fine.

I also learnt that in order to use 3D TRANSITIONS whilst making a production this had to be set to 'Hardware'. Excellent -works fine.

Now the (obvious) question how can I keep the 3D Transitions I have used when burning ?

Always in awe !

You won't be able to use the 3D transitions with Software render.

If you built your production, in VideoWave, you could try outputting the production as an mpeg-2 for DVD - best quality, file, then burn it in MyDVD. You may still have the juddering, but it is worth a shot, if you want to keep the 3-D transitions, with your setting at Hardware render.

Guys

Usual thanks for your knowledge and kindness.

Think I will give Jim's idea a go first.

As stated before I have almost no knowledgE of hardware but managed to find out from my system that my VideoCard is a RADEON 9200.

Can you comfirn that this is not suitable and if so suggest what I specifically want

Usual thanks

Try using the latest video drivers for that card. The latest drivers were released in November 2006. If you don't have them, update from here:

That link is for Windows XP drivers.

Thanks for that GB.

I have installed from the link and will give it a go.

Presumably I now leave the option set to HARDWARE for all operations?

... and of course, if you have an RW disc or 2 lying around, dust them off and burn your .iso image on them as you experiment with Hardware v. Software, that way you won't have coasters costing you $$$ and taking up space in your local landfill. If you go that route, make sure you thereafter burn productions you like onto a DVD+R or DVD-R, depending on your preference (and the preference of your DVD players ) for a more"permanent" archive.

Yes I always use RW'S until happy with production.

The reason for my last question is that when I select Software fpr Rendering option I am still unable to acceess 3D Transitions. Should I be able to now ? How can I check that download has actually been installed (although I got 'ok' message) ?
