Error Message : 80004003

Screaming-Ab-Dab

Question

I have put together various slide shows of photos and want to write them into DVDs, but I keep getting this error message.

Failed to start the image writing operation Error while  Burning Image

80004003 Error while  Aborting

Please can somebody help me. I spent a lot of money on this software and it won't do what I want it to. Do I need a new DVD burner. The drivers are up to date for this one. I'm on Windows Vista. Anything else you need to know to help me. Just ask.

Thanks a lot.

Of course a reboot is in order.

You may have to go the Clean Install route – pinned post at the top of this forum about Problems.

I have put this software on several times on one PC as well as 2 other PCs for experimenting. Every time, it installs and runs without a problem (oh BoT won't run on one but not high on my list)

Hi Jim. Done clean install, still no luck. Do you think I should change the disks i'm using - Phillips DVD -R. Any other suggestions.

If you are burning to a file and run into problems, changing discs won't help.

I'll assume you made the slide show)s) in Video Wave and saved the file. Open Video Wave and bring in that file. Once it has loaded, look above the preview window for an icon that looks like an old film reel. Click on that and output the project to an mpg2 file for DVD at best quality. If it encodes, then you can just add that mpg2 file to MyDVD via add movie.

If it doesn't encode properly, note the time that it stalls. Look in the production and you should be able to identify the culprit. Look for a mp3 file that may not be standard or one that you got from an on-line store, look for image duration on either side of a transitions, etc. Fix that and try again.

Sadly these error messages are often vague…

You didn't mention which program you using in the Suite – figure it is MyDVD or MyDVD Express???

If you set it to burn to File instead of Disc what happens? (note the location of the ISO file it creates, we can use that in VCC)

Are you using good media like Verbatim are some Junk of the Week discs that should have been left in a dumpster?

Got any RW discs to play with till we can get this settled?

Hello Jim and thank you for replying. Yes I have got some RW discs to mess about with. The discs I am using are Phillips. I've got Creator 2009 and am using the MyDVD bit of that. I shall have a go at burning to File instead of disc and see what happens. Just to add insult to injury I am now getting a Videowave 11 not responding error. Am really upset about this as the software is everything I wanted it to be if it would only work and being a complete notice is not helping. Thanks.
