Toast Can't Find Track.

Quabit

Question

I have Toast 9.0.2. I can usually burn a number of CDs without a problem. But, eventually, when I try to load up a mix CD file I get messages telling me that Toast can't find the track.

After a lot of searching for tracks I can eventually rebuild my mix and record again but the process is very time-consuming. After a while, when I try to open up a the same mix file it loses the tracks again and I have to start all over.

Does anyone know what's going on here?

I guess one issue that could be a factor is that the iTune tracks are on a separate hard drive.

I don't know what's happening in your situation but it is important that nothing changed in the track file that Toast is pointing toward. Obviously moving the file would be an issue but also modifying it in some way could cause this problem.

If you are wanting to burn the same (or similar) mix consider choosing Save as Disc Image to keep the mix intact on your hard drive. When you open the resulting .sd2f file Toast will show all the tracks along with their pauses and cross-fades and whatever. You can then modify that project list by moving, adding and deleting in the Toast window. This might save you some time.

One more thing: update to Toast 9.0.4. You can keep 9.0.2 along with 9.0.4, but the reason Roxio issues updates is to fix bugs.
