This is a bit late but I have an older capture device DVDExpressDX2 and I'm using an old Pinnacle Studio 8 (smaller version) program I got with a burner a long time ago. So I 'am looking at ROXIO EASY VHS TO DVD, Costco has it on sale. My questions is this “OLD' Pinnacle Studio 8 is very slow and I have a lot of problems with it. How I filmed in the order that I taped some things is difficult to imagine. So all I want to do is Capture them and edit the order they appear in before I burn to a disk. Studio 8 does it but it doesn’t always work as requested and it takes hours to render them after I Edit the order they are in, even if you just delete a scene or 2 you have to render the whole thing in order to burn it. Will EASY VHS allow me to do this simple type of editing the order some of the frames are taped in. Does it have any Title ability to add Tittles at the beginning and end or does it just capture and copy to DVD? I do have Nero 8 but Nero Vision will not open the captured file since I didn’t capture it using Nero I guess. It is an MPEG 2 file so I don’t really know why it won’t open to edit it. I can burn with Nero though, just t not edit. I really don’t want to buy Roxio Creator 9 or some other program as I won’t need them in the future so this is why I'm looking at the cheaper alternative. I just want to copy my HI 8 tapes & do some minor editing.

All video software works at the speed of your CPU, that never changes.

 

If the capture is compliant to the output, Smart Render will be used. For a 1 hour movie that translates into about 18 minutes for my 3.0Ghz and about 8 minutes for a 2.2Ghz Dual Core.

 

Of course capture is 1:1, and that doesn't change either

 

While the Roxio Capture USB is just the device and NO Software. Make sure you are looking at the blue box Easy VHS to DVD which includes the powerful VideoWave editor and the MyDVD disc Authoring package.

 

Go up to the EMC 9, 10 & 2009 forums and look at the Tips & Tricks and How To subjects to get an idea what you can do with these 2.
