Differences Between Emc8 Mydvd And Sonic Mydvd?

Does anybody know what the differences are between EMC8's version of MyDvd and the standalone Sonic product MyDvd? Seems that the version included in EMC8 has many useful features disabled. I purchased EMC8 almost 2 months ago and am now just starting to use it for Tivo2Go transfers and family videos. I'm now wondering if the standalone version wouldn't have served me better. ....or are we going to get access to those currently disabled features. (Note that I am using the downloaded version of EMC8 and don't have the CTRL+R option).

Funny, I was just about to ask the same question - somewhat disheartening that you didn't get any answer in three months. In my case, it's a retail package of EMC8, so I don't think that (download vs. retail) matters. Same story, though, many settings in MyDVD are blanked out and not accessible.

 

Note that somewhere on Sonic/Roxio's web site, it states that the version of MyDVD included in EMC8 is the full "Deluxe" version. I found that earlier tonight, but can't find it again now, sorry.

For 97% of the things you are going to do, the version of EMC 8 that you have will do what you want or there are posted work arounds. Neither of those versions are the new "deluxe" version. There will be an upgrade to the deluxe version from EMC 8 posted in April (according to Roxio) but they have been known to miss posted dates with other releases. You can see a discussion on the upgrade in the "install" section of the V 8 board. I don't remember what the upgrade is expected to cost.
