Burning Error

Question

I have tried a number of times lately to burn a film to a DVD using Toast

Titanium 10, but I keep getting an error message which reads:

Sense Key=Hardware Error

Sense Code=0x03, 0x01

Does anybody recognise this error. Can you check a superdrive with Apples hardware test, and if so how.

Usually, whenever I see an error message like this, it is associated with a bad dvd-r disc. Either your writer does not like the brand or it could be a bad disc from the batch that you are using. I personally stick to 2 brands - Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Datalife Plus. Hope this helps. :)

It could be a problem with the optical drive. But here's some things to try first:

1. Choose Save as Disc Image and then burn the disc image to DVD using the Image File setting in the Copy window.

2. Choose the slowest-available burn speed that is shown after the blank disc is inserted and recognized.

3. Try a different brand of blank disc. I suggest Verbatim.
