Are you trying to use the USB capture device that came with the VHSt0DVD program, in the C2009 program ? There is a different USB capture device that you can get for the C2009 program. Two different devices.

to Start with plug the USB capture device that comes with the VHStoDVD program in a USB 2.0 port on your computer "FIRST". Then place the program disk in your drive and follow directions. I am assuming you have the capture device that comes with the VHSto DVD program and are using that program for capturing your audio and video, rather than using C2009.

roxio 2009 has more capabilities that vhs to dvd, that was the reason i wanted to continue to use c2009.

however when i uninstall c2009 and install vhs to dvd everything works ok. for some reason the plug and burn in c2009 doesn't work properly on a vista 64 bit machine. you do not see any usb devices in the plug and burn module. i am using the usb capture device that came with the vhs to dvd.

Plug & Burn using the Roxio USB capture device is only available in Easy VHS to DVD. It is not available in Creator 2009.

Most here don't use and don't recommend using Plug & Burn anyway, so to most of us it's not an issue. If you want to use it, you'll have to stick with Easy VHS to DVD and not use Creator 2009.

I bought a "bundle" package containing BOTH Easy VHS to DVD *AND* Roxio Creator 2009. I received a driver CD for the "Video Capture USB" device, and the Roxio Creator 2009 CD. I don't have a separate program for Easy VHS to DVD.

Two questions:

1. Like the original poster, I am not able to select the Video Capture USB device in Plug & Burn. How do I fix this?

2. If Plug & Burn is not recommended, what should I use?

Thanks!

Start by posting in the right forum… You don't have this software and 2009 cannot do P&B unless it is hooked up to a Firewire…

There is a lengthy article (sorry about that) in the 2009 How To forum on install and use of the capture device.
