jmkoons
I'm a potential Roxio Music Lab user, pending confirmation on a few features key to my decision. Could any users verify the ability of Music Lab to handle cue chunks within wav files? That is, I commonly work with large wav files, then add cue data within the wav file itself using audio editing sotware. No cue list is generated, as the track info is already embedded. The burning utility I used to work with (before upgrading to Vista 64) detected those cue points within the single wav file, and allowed virtual splitting of that into individual tracks. Each track could even have its own cd text and be set to either gapless or a variable length of leading silence when burned. Since there is no try-before-buy option for Music Lab, I'd appreciate any comments on the ability of this app to read the cue chunk info of a wav file, and allow virtual splitting at burn time. There are workarounds, such as splitting the wav into separate files before burning, but this is undesirable. Creating a cue file before the burn, using the cue points I've already determined partially solves this, but its an extra step that shouldn't be necessary since the info is already in the wav file when I'm ready to burn it. Let's say I settle for having to create a separate cue file for the burn, then I'm still missing the ability to edit each file's leading silence (which I vary sometimes), and cd text for each. What I'm really after is virtual track split ability before burning. Thank you in advance for feedback.
Brendon
Sonic/Roxio have a policy that anything bought on line from them can be returned for a refund within 30 days if unsatisfactory. You would need a version of Music Lab which can run in Vista 64.
