what causes crackling noises in the music when I make an audio cd from prerecorded cds I burnt on my hard drive and is there a way to fix it,

thanks

I have not had that problem, so I can't help you. But, I have one heckuva problem with a crackling in my knees. :) I did way too much physical labor the last 3 days, and my 56 year old body reminded me that it is no longer in its 20's.

And no, I am not making light of your problem. I just ache like crazy.

Does this sound happen when you play the original files on your computer? Are you copying from disc to disc or ripping to your hard drive then copying? I've heard this before but for me, it's very seldom. I would make sure your drive is defragged and that you have as little as possible running in the background.

It's helpful to know your system specs as well as some info of how you copied these files....did you copy to an mp3, wav, wma?

OH MY GOSH Bruce. Who are those two beautiful young ladies on your avatar. let me guess---Grand-daughters ? You think you have aches now, wait till you get my age :)

Problem: The only time I have heard those strange crackling sounds from my speakers was when one of the cables was shorting out intermittantly to ground. Other than that, after recording a few of my old LP records to disk, I had some pretty nasty sounds on a couple of them but that was do to the old LP's themselves being completely worn out and not the programming or my hardware.

Frank.....

Those are two of my granddaughters. I will see them this weekend. :)

I have not had the problem with the crackling sound on CD's that I made, but I do remember isolated posts on the past webboard, about that same issue. I just can't remember a solution.
