Gibletoid
How do I burn at 1x speed in toast 10 on the Mac? I select 1x and simulation, then the program goes ahead and burns at up to 7x, and actually burns data. I can't afford to keep wrecking discs. tsantee
The available burn speeds are determined by the drive's firmware and the blank media. There is no commonly available media today that support 1X burning. I suggest contacting the online companies that specialize in optical discs to inquire about any media they sell that allow 1x burning. You can see what speeds are supported by your media and drive by inserting a blank disc and, after it is recognized by the drive, choosing a burn speed in the Recorder Settings window. SomeRandom
Quick question - Are you setting the speed when the drive is empty? If so, you may be selecting a speed that the destination media type doesn't support, which means that the app will reset to the default setting of "Best". Try inserting the blank disc first, then selecting the speed when you're about to burn.
