Sp3 Update Error: Software Not Found

I just bought a new computer and installed Roxio Creator 2009 (regular, not Ultimate). Everything went fine except I can't install the SP3 Update. I get the error message:

 

Software not found

 

Roxio Creator 2009 could not be located on your system. Re-install Roxio Creator 2009 and then run this patch again.

 

Here's what I've already tried to resolve this problem:

 

1. clean uninstall (ie: removing registry, etc)

2. rebooting

3. reinstalling

4. I tried the patch 2009ContentDiscError_HotFix.zip

 

I have Windows Vista Premium 64-bit SP1 with all updates applied. I am installing Roxio Creator 2009 from a store purchased disc, not a download. I have checked the sytem requirements and I meet or exceed them all. Roxio runs perfectly right now, so I know that the program is installed. The problem is only that I can't install SP3 because it says Creator 2009 is not installed on my computer even though it is.

 

Please help me install SP3

I guess I was a little too hasty to mention "quick response" since it has been more than a week since I provided you with the details you requested. Is anyone still there??? I could really use a resolution to this problem. Can anyone else PLEASE help???
