This problem occured after I checked the box the normally pops up when launching Media Import regarding change to system registry. After years of clicking "ok to allow registry change" I decided to opt for the option of always allowing change. Since then whenever I try to launch media import the application will launch enough to see the yellow box Roxio Media Import. flicker on my screen then it disappears.
I just checked other apps within EMC9, and when I try to launch MyDVD, VideoWave I get

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Followed by: Runtime Error! R6025 - pure virtual function call
Using Windows XP.
