Creator 2009 Uninstall Caused Confusion

Dlogue1

Question

First, let me say that I have been using Roxio since the Easy pack went on sale for $30 bucks five years ago and have loved every minute of it! As an amatuer photographer, I have made some rockin' Dvds for most of my family and friends- I have been able to document and save our sports' endeavors very happily... however-

I recently upgraded to Ceator 2009- and got the familiar program error when I tried to open the program a few days after I began using it.

I read thru lots of posts and decided to go with Digital Guru's Clean uninstall instructions.

While I'm not a rocket scientist, the instructions were friendly and easy to follow (I did print them as he suggested).

All went well until I rebooted my computer and attempted to re-install Creator 2009.

Suddenly, "my computer" won't even recognize my disc drives.

When I load the disc, nothing happens- it won't autostart, either.

When I click on "my computer", two cd-dvd drives are not showing...

Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks,

Daph

I can't help but be polite- this forum has walked me thru many obstacles over five years, and this is the first time I've ever had to post anything!

The KEB article from Beerman got my computer to "see the drives" so I could re-install Creator 09-

After reloading, I got the "error" message-

So,

The S3 patch got it up and running..

And since I'm not sure wth an "optical drive" is, asking nicely is the only way to go! :)

All fixed, I'm hoping- I immediately created a new DVD for last wrestling season and things went beautifully!

THANK YOU!

I have the same problem. I have Vista in my dell laptop and I installed sp3 service pack . I reinstalled the software and did a complete clean install. After 3 hours of all this. I restarted the computer and I still could not open the roxio icon. HELP!!!

See if this KB article gets your drives back.

As always, thanks so much- the link took me right where you thought it would. Usually, I can limp thru whatever fix I need by reading thru previous posts- the Digi gurus are great making difficult information seem simple.

I was able to reinstall the software version after the clean uninstall.

However, the same error message has returned: "encountered an error and must close"...

Bummer.

I followed the clean uninstall from Jim Harding (at the top of the threads) exactly. I'm not sure what to do next---

Thanks again,

Daph
