When importing from Sony DV Camera this message appears immediatey: "Roxi Media Capture has stopped, a probem caused the program to stop working correcty" The probem is never identified.

I'm importing with a Sony Fire Wire connection. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong?

Make sure you don't move the camcorder or bother the Firewire cable during capture. That could cause intermittent connections. You may need to disconnect from the internet and turn off antivirus app.

Are you using your camcorder A/C power supply, when capturing?

Are there any gaps or blank spaces on your tape? They can cause when capturing with Roxio.

 

Have you tried capturing with Windows Movie Maker?

I do all my capturing from my Sony DV camcorder using a small, free utility called WinDV . It captures to individual files based on the timestamp on your tape.
