Can't Hear Any Audio In Roxio Sound Editor

HBT

Question

  • I can capture audio in "Roxio Easy Audio Capture" (I capture it in WAV format for better editing later on).
  • I can launch the captured audio in "Roxio Sound Editor".
  • Sound Editor shows all the correct file characteristics and I can edit the file properly.
  • HOWEVER, I can't listen to the file in Roxio Sound Editor (either before or after editing it) no matter what I do. I have tried selecting and trying the full range of "Select Playback Device" options available in Sound Editor, but none of them work.
  • The file plays fine once I launch it in some other player. Just can't seem to get the audio out of it in Sound Editor.

Hope someone can help.

PS. I'm using Roxio 2009 on Vista Ultimate Home Edition with all service pack updates. My system playback option is "Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme". My recording option is S/PDIF-In (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme).

Check to make sure that the audio is not muted and is 'up".
